With the help of the Water Reporter app (it’s free), you can report Spruce Creek’s algal blooms as well as other issues impacting Kittery Waters, including coastal erosion, rising water levels, and waste. You can also report which areas are healthy and thriving.
Volunteering to the be a Water Reporter is a great contribution and one you can do at your own pace! Out walking by the creek? Out on a paddle? Taking the boat out? Make a Water Reporter post. Your posts become research within a few seconds.
All you have to do is snap a pic, post your photo, and tag the location. Use hashtags #savekitterywaters and #sprucecreekkittery in your comment.
Visit your device's app store and download the app. The app is called "Water Reporter" and has a logo that looks like a droplet of water.
Once you open the app for the first time, you'll be brought to a "Sign in" screen. Click the "Sign up for Water Reporter" URL to create your account.
Provide your name, email, and create a smart password. If you want, you can later add a profile photo
You'll be taken through a few prompts, one of which is to follow a Group. Searching for "Great Bay- Piscataqua Waterkeeper" and the Group's logo will appear. This helps keep your Water Reporter posts organized. After you follow the group, you can follow friends or skip to post.
